House of One: About the strength of architecture
Roland Stolte, co-founder of the House of One, and Wilfried Kuehn, architect of the House of One, invite you to a conversation about the House of One and the special power that architecture can unleash. The evening is a Veranstaltung der Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz.
The House of One is being built not far from Nicolaihaus, the headquarters of the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz. The multi-religious House will stand on the foundations of the former St. Peter's Church, which was damaged in World War II and demolished in 1964. Planned jointly by Jewish, Christian and Muslim women and men since 2011, the House of One will be open to both secular urban society and representatives of other religions.
Much about the idea of the House of One is unusual. It is therefore worth asking unfamiliar questions:
When and why is it good to take a long time to plan?
What is the value of intermediate steps and spaces?
Why is solid brick construction not sacral building nostalgia?
What power can architecture unfold for an understanding among religions?
On the occasion of the start of construction of the House of One in the early summer of 2023, Roland Stolte, responsible in the Foundation House of One for and Wilfried Kuehn from the architectural firm Kuehn Malvezzi Berlin will address these questions. The contributions will be combined with information about the idea and architecture as well as the history and realization of the House of One.
Following the lecture, the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz invites you to join in a conversation over a
glass of wine.

Mit interreligiöser Kraft Frieden stiften
375 Jahre nach dem Westfälischen Friedensschluss scheint die Welt heute wieder aus dem Gleichgewicht. wie können Konflikte nachhaltig überwunden werden? Welche Rolle können Religionen dabei leisten? Was genau in Thora, Bibel und Koran geschrieben steht, worin sich die Erzählungen unterscheiden oder etwa übereinstimmen, darüber sprechen Rabbiner Andreas Nachama, Pfarrer Gregor Hohberg und Imam Kadir Sanci.
