From April 25 to 26, 2026, the 3rd International Peace Education Conference (IntPeC) will take place at the Berlin Citadel. Under the theme “Learning and Teaching Peace – Shaping Democracy,” experts from academia, education, and civil society will come together. The House of One is not only a co-organizer but is also actively engaged in the professional dialogue.
At a time of increasing social polarization, digital disinformation, and religiously motivated tensions, peace education is more important than ever. The conference provides an interdisciplinary platform to translate academic insights into practical formats for schools and youth work.
School as space for dialogue
Speakers include Prof. Dr. Meron Mendel (Bildungsstätte Anne Frank), Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Naurath (University of Augsburg), Prof. Uli Jäger (Berghof Foundation), Sabine Süß (Stiftungen für Bildung e.V.), and Dr. Samet Er (University of Vechta). On behalf of the House of One Foundation, theologian Patricia Böckmann will participate in the panel discussion “School as a Space for Dialogue: Ways Out of Polarization in Everyday Life.” Böckmann coordinates the project “House of One macht Schule”.
The aim of the conference is to translate research findings into educational practice and to establish sustainable structures between schools, universities, independent organizations, religious communities, as well as administrative and political bodies. The conference is therefore primarily aimed at educational professionals as well as representatives from the aforementioned sectors.
