Disguise plays a role in the Jewish festival of Purim and in the carnival traditions of Christian culture. While Muslims do not have a religious festival centered on disguise, it nevertheless plays an important role in the Hadiths, in Islamic history and in folk narratives. In everyday life, too, there are certain dress codes prescribed by the sacred texts.
