What do the Torah, the Bible, and the Qur’an say about life, time, prayer, light, or rest? At LESEZEICHEN – our monthly interreligious reading series – Rabbi Andreas Nachama, Pastor Marion Gardei, and Imam Kadir Sanci read together from the Holy Scriptures and engage in dialogue on central themes of the three Abrahamic religions.
These evenings offer new perspectives on one’s own understanding of faith and open the door to learning about other traditions. They invite us to come together, reflect, and share ideas.
The next LESEZEICHEN is dedicatet to the following theme:
How do we count the years? Calendars and the Flow of Life
How is time measured in the Abrahamic religions?
Beginning on 22 September 2025, the Jewish calender marks the year 5786. For Christians, the year 2025 begins on 1 January - though the liturgical year starts in early December. Muslims enter the year 1447 at the end of June.
How do we locate our own lives within the rhythm of years that come and go?
