As part of Muslim Culture Week and the Jewish festival of Sukkot, the House of One and the Young Forum of Religions invite you to an evening entitled “Words, Values, Worlds – Sacred Texts and Worldviews in Dialogue”.
Listen, ask questions and share your thoughts: Together with the participants, theologians from different religions and worldviews will read passages from various religious scriptures. These will be complemented by texts representing other worldviews, all centred around the shared theme of “solidarity”.
We will read and discuss the selected passages using the Scriptural Reasoning method. The aim is not to prove who is right or to resolve differences. Instead, the focus is on exploring different perspectives with curiosity and respect. This creates a space in which diversity does not divide us, but enriches us.
We are expressly not seeking theological consensus during this evening. Rather, we want to gain a better understanding of other traditions as well as our own, recognise prejudices and find ways to live together respectfully in our diverse urban society.
