House of One – Partner in the one „World House“ - Part III: Washington

Pastor Gregor Hohberg is currently visiting different interfaith initiatives and organizations throughout the US, to create and renew these important connections - even over this great distance - and to pubcompounds and so to make the idea of the implementation of a "world house", the "house of one" more publicized.

Washington, 39º "Please, drive us to the National Cathedral." The taxi driver pulls away and brings us to different churches and circles around the National Cathedral, one of the largest churches in the world, he simply does not know. It is the central church of the Episcopal Church in the United States, in a way, the American branch of the Anglican Church. The Cathedral in Washington represents a little as far as the church in the very differentiated landscape and then being too konsequnten separation of religion and state in the US is at all possible, the discreet, civil religiously-inspired interaction of church and state (at the federal level) to certain occasions. So the funerals for several presidents were held in the cathedral and memorial services after terrorist attacks. In the entrance hall the coat of arms of all states are embedded in the ground and in a church window Moonstone has been incorporated from the Apollo mission. Today we have an appointment with the pastor for Interreligious Dialogue at the National Cathedral, Rev.Carol Flett.
