Jewish-Christian-Muslim blessing for the election of the federal president

The day of the federal assembly for the election of the federal president started off with a premier: For the first time at the traditional ecumenic church service in the morning of election day of the hightest federal organ a Jewish and Muslim chaplain, Rabbi Andreas Nachama and Imam Kadir Sanci (both from the House of One) were present.

Side by side with Pastor Gregor Hohberg, their Christian colleague from the presidium of the House of One, the Rabbi and Imam opened the church service in the church St. Marien on the Alexanderplatz in Berlin. Prelat Martin Dutzmann, authorized representative of the council of the Evangelist Church Germany and prelat Karl Jüsten, head of the Catholic office in Berlin, did their service to the religious diversity of the 17th federal assembly and therefore to the religious diversity of the country by inviting the House of One. An important statement of acceptance and respectful togetherness of the religions.

"Bless those who have, with wisdom and sense, given our people the authority, for they will keep and strengthen peace and freedom on the inside as well as the outside." Rabbi Nachama started out. In the rows in front of him the representants of the highest constitutional organs of the country listened intently, among them federal president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Bündenbender, president of the parliament Bärbel Bas and chancellor Olaf Scholz. The reigning mayor of Berlin and head of the curatorium of the House of One, Franziska Giffey as well as prime ministers Manuela Schwesig and Malu Dreyer had shown up in Church as well during such early hour.

After the service, the federal presidents, the chancellor and many others came to talk to the chaplains. The special festival, that put the religious diversity, which is self-evident and yet often times not taken seriously, in the spotlight, recieved special thanks. Heartfelt congratulations on the success of a project of such importance for our togetherness were addressed to the House of One.
