"We pray, we speak out, and we help." This February 24, 2023 marks the anniversary of the Russian army's invasion of Ukraine. The House of One commemorates virtually with many people, brothers and sisters worldwide, this day that has since brought so much suffering to the people of Ukraine.
Rabbi Andreas Nachama, theologian Kübra Dalkilic and priest Gregor Hohberg from the House of One met for a multi-faith prayer on the building site of the House of One in the heart of Berlin. We recorded the prayer on video for you to join. Together with them let us pause for a moment to remember the dead, the injured and the displaced, many of them in Germany, and to jointly pray for peace.
At the same time, also our friends in Tbilisi/Georgia are also gathering in the Cathedral of Peace of our partner Bishop Malkhaz and many, many others all over the world with the request for peace. Men and women, whether of Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Yezidi, Buddhist, Hindu or other faiths stand side by side on this day. The Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) alone has invited its 50 million members to participate with prayers and to raise their voices so that the people of Ukraine can soon live in peace again.
Perhaps we do not share the same views in our places of worship and religions about war and the need for arms supplies. But what unites us is the desire for peace.
