After recent appointments of project ambassadors in Switzerland and Austria, Rabbi Sonja K. Pilz has now been appointed as the first project ambassador in the United States of America by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation House of One.

During a current US-trip at the invitation of the German Embassy, that takes a House of One delegation to New York and Washington D.C., the certificate was presented to Rabbi Pilz earlier this week.

As Project Ambassador, Rabbi Pilz will take part in promoting the idea of the House of One as a symbol of peaceful understanding between the religions involving civil society in the US and expand the growing international network of the House of One.

Rabbi Pilz, who works at the Hebrew Union College in New York, is looking forward to her new task: „The House of One is a great opportunity to jointly learn to understand a world where different living environments meet – and providing these encounters a protected religious and theological space.“

The religious-social experiences and questions, that can be quite different in New York and Berlin, according to Sonja Pilz, shall be put in relation so that the concrete actions in individual cities and with existing partner projects can create a connected „built symbol“ of religious peace. For Sonja Pilz this is the appeal and challenge of her future task.

To support her work, the Foundation House of One is currently in the process of setting up an association of friends for the House of One in the US. In preparation thereof, Sonja Pilz and members of the Foundation are having a series of conversations with representatives of religion, politics and civil society in New York City and Washington D.C. in cooperation with the German Embassy.
