20 years 9/11: religions for peace
On September 11, 2001, the world changed. The attacks have their effects to this day. Almost 3,000 people died on the day itself, and even more in the terror around the world in the years that followed. Almost a million people lost their lives in the "wars on terror".
The House of One has invited people to a prayer for peace to remember the ones we lost and to give strength to the survivors of the past 20 years. In view of the current situation, special attention is being paid to the people in and from Afghanistan.
At the same time, this peace prayer, for which almost twenty people from different religions came together in Berlin's Parochialkirche on Friday, is intended to give a good exemple through this community of very different people and to show how natural peace between people of different faiths can be and has always been in many places.
"Here we stand, the House of One, with friends (...), we who want to counteract such problems," said Imam Kadir Sanci. Rev Hohberg, also from the House of One, added: "We pray in different traditions, yes, but we pray for a common goal: peace."
You can watch the whole prayer which is partly in English and German again here, although the sound quality is not optimal throughout:
