Rosch ha-Schana - the year 5781 begins

Rosch Haschana Rosh Hashana Shana tova Jüdisches Neujahrsfest 5781

This year, the two-day Jewish New Year's celebration Rosh Hashanah begins on the evening of September 18. Rosh Hashana means "head of the year" and symbolizes the beginning of the year.

This is what we, together with women and men of Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and other faiths, wish all Jewish sisters and brothers with the following video. Shana tova!

With Rosh Hashana the so-called reverent days begin. These are days of retreat, prayer and penance, which end with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

We look back on a year that was anything but easy. A year ago on Yom Kippur, the synagogue in Halle was raided, an act that is part of a long series of anti-Semitic crimes in Germany.

This makes it all the more important for us to show through this short video our connection in the diverse coexistence in Germany, of which Jews are a natural part as all of us.
